Today is a day of glorious discoveries. okay...maybe not glorious, but pretty darn good. Last night, Amanda pointed me to a new neighborhood venue that is far more conducive to work than the tea lounges, bohemian and comfy though they are. This place, the Red Horse Cafe, has good things. Intelligent - brilliant, actually - art. Homemade granola of the right proportions - neither chock full of over-sugared fruit nor of peanuts and sunflowers - this granola has at least as many nuts as oats, good nuts like hazelnuts and almonds too, and plump dried fruits of scrumptious assortment. The music's a refreshing change from the 'playing my band's demo' sound at the tea lounge, and the patrons are mature, subdued, and focused on their work.
And on discoveries...shortly after i came in, on came a series of songs i recognized from traversing my college's network and mining other users share files. Turns out that what I had discovered as Portishead (as that was how it was labeled) is actually Mandalay. Oh joy. I have missed these songs.
And, and...i've bridged the prose-code gap in the Hadley narrative, in a way that I believe might actually work for non-coder readers. I'll have to ask Kara...
today is a good day, too bad tomorrow's less likely to be....
